Bianca Nicholas was born in Beckenham, Kent and from an early age was interested in the performing arts. Bianca’s first love, in fact, was acting. At just five-years-old, she played the lead role in the Cannes Film Festival award-winning short film, is it the design on the wrapper?; and in her early teens, she appeared alongside Johnny Depp in the Hollywood blockbuster, Sleepy Hollow. Not a bad start, indeed. So, at 15, she did the natural thing… kicked the acting into touch! Determined to follow her true passion, which lied within the realms of the even more fickle business that is the music industry…
Bianca went on to sing at a string of high-profile charity events which has seen her duet with Will Young, tour with Classical Brit winners ‘Blake’ and perform twice for Princes William and Harry, as well as the Duchess of Cambridge,Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Pippa Middleton…
Bianca also sang at the London Regent Street Christmas lights switch on in 2011 where she performed her debut single “Hold On To Your Dreams” which was a top 100 single and number 1 on the iTunes Vocal Chart - a huge achievement for an unsigned artist. The single re-entered the vocal chart at number 2 in 2013 when UK radio station Heart FM played the song on air as part of their ‘Have a Heart’ charity appeal.
In 2014 Bianca appeared on The Voice UK, and more recently she represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Performing live to a television audience of 200 million viewers. 2017 Bianca recorded two cover tracks in the world famous ‘Studio Two’ at Abbey Road, which has hosted landmark recordings by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Oasis and Adele. Here she met the team behind 'Choirs With Purpose' with whom she founded the Cystic Fibrosis Virtual Choir who featured on the Christmas top 40 Charity Album 'Stand Together.
Nicholas’s determination to pursue her musical ambitions is all the more notable because of the effects of her condition. Cystic Fibrosis – an illness for which there is currently no cure – affects organs throughout the body, including the lungs. The condition requires rigorous physiotherapy, use of nebulisers and inhalers, injections and an intake of approximately 30 tablets every day.'.
